Consulting Engineer - Information Infrastructure

Within our strategic focus on several sectors, we are seeking an experienced Consulting Engineer - Information Infrastructure to join our team.

 

The Role

At N-able, the role of Consulting Engineer for Information Infrastructure involves implementing and managing comprehensive IT solutions. The Consulting Engineer integrates technologies from industry leaders like RedHat, VMware, DellEMC, HP, Cisco, IBM, Veeam, and Commvault. Responsibilities include designing advanced containerization platforms, overseeing server and storage infrastructure projects, and developing business continuity solutions. The Consulting Engineer's expertise supports both enterprise and service provider customers, ensuring smooth project execution and fostering exceptional customer relationships.

 

Requirements

  • Implement and manage IT solutions involving global technologies from RedHat, VMware, DellEMC, HP, Cisco, IBM, Veeam, and Commvault.

  • Design and implement solutions using OpenShift and Tanzu, including operator services.

  • Engage in server and storage infrastructure projects, server virtualization, and cloud computing solutions, primarily focused on IaaS.

  • Disaster Recovery & Backup Solutions: Develop and implement IT disaster recovery and backup solutions for diverse customer bases.

  • Provide robust technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct user acceptance tests, deliver end-user training, and create comprehensive documentation.

  • Adhere to project delivery methodologies for smooth execution.

  • Engage in technical pre-sales operations to support business development.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and customers.

Technical Skills & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent from a reputed university. 
    • 4+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with practical skills in: 
       - Kubernetes and container platforms like OpenShift and Tanzu. 
       - Installing, managing, and troubleshooting Linux and IBM AIX systems. 
       - On-prem virtualization technologies such as VMware and Nutanix. 
       - Automation platforms like Ansible and Terraform. 
       - DevOps concepts and practices. 
       - Scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and shell scripting. 
       - Software-defined storage technologies like Ceph and Spectrum Scale. 
       - Server solutions including Dell, HP, and Lenovo. 
       - IT disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Storage base replication, VMware SRM, RedHat ACM). 
       - Backup and recovery technologies. 
       - Java middleware platforms (WebSphere, JBOSS, WebLogic). 
       - Network technologies, including switching, routing, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls. 

 

Professional Certifications

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) 
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) 
  • Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator 
  • VMware Data Center Virtualization (DCV) or above 
  • VMware Certified Specialist - vSphere with Tanzu
